Handpaname 2026: A New Handpan Festival Is Coming to Paris
France has long held a special place on the European handpan map. It is home to talented musicians and makers, as well as festivals and gatherings that bring the community together year after year.
In September 2026, a new event will join this vibrant scene — Handpaname, a one-day festival created by the French collective Hangora.
Â
This will be the festival’s very first edition, so there are no stories from previous years to tell yet. Still, its debut already looks very promising. Handpaname brings together music, learning, creativity, well-being, and community — all in one inspiring day near Paris.
Handpaname: Handpan & Vibrational Cultures
Handpaname will take place on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 12:00 to 22:00, at La Cité Fertile in Pantin, just outside central Paris.
The festival is organized by Hangora, a French collective whose mission is to create connection through art and sound. Through handpan workshops, open jam sessions, and hybrid performances, Hangora encourages people to explore their creativity and share music in a welcoming environment.
For its first large festival, the team is inviting international artists, musicians, handpan makers, artisans, experienced players, beginners, and people who may simply be curious about this unusual instrument.
The organizers hope that Handpaname will grow into an annual meeting point for the handpan community in the ÃŽle-de-France region. We would love to see that happen.
Music Throughout the Day
The concert program brings together different musicians and musical worlds:
- Nadishana
- Jeremy Nattagh & Adèle Blanchin
- Louis Ahmad Yahya
- Rania Badri
- Calypso Orchestre Steelpan
- Team Hangora
- GrooveBox & Key Handpan
- DJ set by Rebels
From solo handpan performances to collaborative projects, steelpan sounds, and electronic music, the program promises plenty of variety.
For a debut festival, this is an exciting lineup — and a wonderful opportunity to discover new artists as well as hear musicians already loved by the community.
Workshops, Masterclasses, and Discovery
Handpaname is not only about watching concerts. It is designed as an experience in which visitors can listen, learn, participate, and meet one another.
The program includes:
- introductory handpan workshops;
- masterclasses with guest artists;
- sessions exploring playing techniques;
- opportunities to meet members of the handpan community;
- talks about the handpan and vibrational cultures;
- yoga accompanied by handpan;
- sound relaxation and immersive listening experiences.
You do not need to be an experienced musician to attend. The festival welcomes established players, beginners, handpan lovers, and anyone looking for an inspiring day filled with sound and creativity.
The Artisan Village
Throughout the day, visitors will also be able to explore an artisan village featuring handpan makers, instrument accessories, jewelry, independent creators, and projects connected with music and well-being.
These spaces are always an important part of a handpan festival. They give visitors a chance to meet the people behind the instruments and accessories, exchange ideas, discover new creations, and become part of the community rather than simply observe it from the audience.
A brunch, bar, and food options will also be available at the venue.
Two Namana Bags® Cases — Two Future Winners
Supporting handpan festivals has been part of the Namana Bags® story for many years.
We believe these gatherings do something very important: they help musicians meet one another, introduce new people to the handpan, and allow the culture surrounding the instrument to grow. We are especially happy to support new festivals — because every long-standing tradition once began with a first edition.
For the debut edition of Handpaname, we created two Namana Bags® ST-H01 handpan cases, each with its own personality:
- a khaki case with a black interior;
- a dark blue case with a vibrant electric-blue interior.
Both cases feature bright custom HANGORA embroidery, spacious pockets for personal belongings and accessories, a comfortable ergonomic back panel, and reliable protection for the handpan.
The two cases will be offered as festival raffle prizes, which means that two Handpaname participants will become their new owners.
Two different color combinations. The same level of comfort and protection.
Which one would you choose — 💚 or 💙?
The raffle draw will take place at the end of the festival day. If you are coming to Handpaname, be sure to take part — one of these two cases might continue its journey with you.
A Promising First Chapter
A new festival always begins with a courageous idea: to create a space where people who may not yet know one another can meet through music.
Handpaname’s combination of concerts, education, well-being, craftsmanship, and community gives its first edition a character of its own. France is already known for its rich and diverse handpan festival culture, and we believe this new event can bring its own special flavor to it.
We wish the Hangora team an inspiring and successful first edition. May Handpaname become the beginning of a beautiful annual tradition.
Perhaps we will meet there one day. Until then, we will be following its first chapter from afar — and waiting to discover who becomes the new owner of each Handpaname case.
